- Who is PCBoffer built for?
- For both sides of the same business. EMS providers use it to quote assembled boards and to plan production against their own machine park. OEM development teams see at design time what an assembly will cost and whether the parts in it stay available over the product's lifetime.
- Is PCBoffer itself an EMS provider?
- No. PCBoffer does not assemble boards and runs no production of its own. We build the software EMS providers use to quote, to source components and to plan their manufacturing. Anyone looking to have an assembly built is matched with suitable manufacturers through the platform; the manufacturing happens there.
- How is PCBoffer different from a component price comparison?
- A price comparison answers what the parts cost. It does not answer what the assembly costs. PCBoffer reads the manufacturing data set, counts the placements, the setup effort and the process steps it implies, and prices them against the machine park you actually own. That produces manufacturing cost that fits your own plant instead of an estimate from experience.
- How do I start if I want to try PCBoffer?
- With a bill of materials. On the free plan you create an account, upload an existing BOM and get it back cleaned, together with a feasibility traffic light. Live prices, availability and export come with the STARTER plan. For a full assembly costing, the manufacturing data follows: ODB++ or Gerber together with the pick-and-place data. Both run in the browser, with nothing to install.
- Does PCBoffer run in the cloud, and where is our data held?
- PCBoffer runs as a cloud application in the browser, with no installation required. Infrastructure and data storage are aligned with European data residency requirements, and one company's data is kept separate from every other user's. For confidential enquiries, an NDA workflow with a digital signature can be switched on.
