Problem: paper workflows, assembly errors, disconnected information

The real challenge starts after winning the quote. Once the released BOM moves into production, paper route cards, manual handoffs, and missing data links slow everything down. During manual PCB assembly, error risk rises while quality evidence often requires heavy extra effort.

How It Works

How MES Worker Assistance Works

01

Production order released

After quote approval, the released BOM is transferred directly to shopfloor execution.

02

Digital work instructions on tablets

Dynamic route cards show live status and all relevant work data at each station.

03

Interactive worker assistance guides assembly

Visual placement plans and Pick-to-Light guide operators precisely through each step.

04

Full traceability stored automatically

AOI/ICT checks, serial numbers, and reel-ID mapping are documented automatically and audit-safe.

Core Features

Features for Modern EMS Shopfloors

MES Integration for EMS Production

Seamless from quotation into production: work preparation and shopfloor control run in one connected digital process.

Digital Work Instructions & Tablet Interfaces

Paper route cards are replaced by dynamic tablets. Operators instantly see current status and interactive instructions.

Worker Assistance & Pick-to-Light

During PCB assembly, screens and material stations show exactly which part goes where.

Error Prevention in Manual Assembly

Forced end-of-step checks before soldering reduce error rates to near zero, even for new operators.

Traceability for the Audit

Serial-level traceability for every sector that has to prove it: medical, automotive, aerospace, semiconductor. Built for ISO 13485 and IATF 16949 requirements.

AOI/ICT Protocol Storage & Track & Trace

From exact reel-ID to PCB linking to automatic storage of all test protocols - without manual overhead.

The Call Reaches the Supervisor Wherever They Are

Supervisors are not sitting at a desk. When a station runs out of material or stops, the alert reaches them on their smartwatch, and nobody has to go looking. The button on the electronic shelf label raises the same call, right at the material rack.

Modules You Book Individually

Worker assistance is not an all-or-nothing package. Each module can be booked on its own, and which ones make sense follows the shape of your production, not a package list.

Frequently asked questions

Which MES supports IPC-CFX and Hermes for electronics manufacturing?
PCBoffer's machine connectivity module speaks both standards. IPC-CFX carries machine and process messages, Hermes handles board handover between machines in the line, so line status, cycle times and stoppages arrive without a vendor-specific integration per machine.
How do I connect older SMT machines without replacing them?
By retrofit signal pickup. Machines with no IPC-CFX or Hermes interface are tapped for their existing signals, and appear in the same OEE and line-status picture as modern equipment. A mixed-age machine park becomes visible without a capital investment in new machines.
What is OEE and how is it calculated?
Overall Equipment Effectiveness is the product of three factors: availability (how much of the planned time the line actually ran), performance (how close the real cycle time came to the ideal one) and quality (the share of good boards). Multiplied, they give one figure between 0 and 100 %. PCBoffer calculates it from machine data in real time and captures downtime reasons in a structured way, so a poor figure can be traced to a cause instead of just being reported.
Does the traceability satisfy an ISO 13485 or IATF 16949 audit?
That is what it is built for. Track and trace runs to serial-number level, the component batch is married to the individual board, and AOI and ICT results are stored with it. For medical and automotive customers that record is what an audit asks to see.
What is MSL, and how is MSD floor life monitored?
MSL, moisture sensitivity level, classifies how long a moisture-sensitive device may stay exposed outside its dry pack before it has to be baked. PCBoffer tracks the real floor life per component: exposure time is measured against the MSL class, release is blocked automatically on overrun, and bake time and remaining floor life are calculated. Popcorning is prevented rather than discovered after reflow.
